My Therapy

In a time period like the one were in currently, its very important that you don't bottle up you emotions and you find a way to release your energy in some fashion. In the past year, picking up piano has been very beneficial to me due to its powerful effects it has on me. For me, music is really my therapy, creating music allows me to release my energy whether happy or very grim. Since this quarantined has made me very lonely, any time I feel sad or emotionally drained, when I play the piano, it completely turns me back on light a lightbulb. I feel my hands build chords and rhythms I never even expected to create when I play the piano and that brings me more joy than most other things in life.

This is a photo of the rapper Joey Bada$$. He is a Brooklyn native who has been in the rap scene since the early 2010s and knows many famous and prolific rappers. I'm putting a photo of him up here because I believe he is a very raw and gritty artist that isn't afraid to say exactly what he wants to say in his own style. Every time I make a new song, I try to be very open with it and play exactly what chords and melodies I want to play with the emotions at that time to preserve the rawness and new nature. That is why I think it is necessary to put the photo of Joey up from one of his most raw and bold albums, ALL AMERIKKKAN BADA$$. I recommend you check him out if you haven't already!

  2. Speaking at least for myself - I find your passion for music to be nothing short of inspiring. Having something creative you find to therapeutic is essential, particularly in times like these. It makes me genuinely happy that you've discovered this side of yourself, and I hope that everyone achieves something similar. Thank you for allowing us this perspective into your experience with music.

    Also, Joey Bada$$ is great.
